grad-photoCongratulations to the Fairhaven High School Class of 2020! 

Join us to celebrate the Fairhaven High School Class of 2020 on Sunday, May 31. FHS seniors and their families will participate in a 15+-mile police escorted Graduation Procession. The Procession will begin in Acushnet, at Ford Middle School, and will end with seniors receiving their diplomas at Fairhaven High School.

Sunday, May 31, 2020 starting at 10:00 AM from the Elementary and Middle School in Acushnet. 

What

To honor the Class of 2020 on its graduation day, there will be a 15+ mile long Graduation Procession from Acushnet through Fairhaven on Sunday, May 31, 2020. It will last approximately 45 minutes long. Students will ride as passengers with immediate family members in their car. Each student will receive their diploma at Fairhaven High School to conclude the Procession. To ensure the safety and health of the school and Town communities, FHS school administration have worked hard to ensure that Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines will be followed.

Detailed route: 

Traveling down Middle Road - Taking a left onto Leonard Street - Taking a right onto Main Street - All the way past Acushnet Creamery & St. Francis Church - To the 4 way intersection - Taking a left onto South Main Street - Traveling through the center of Acushnet - To the Fairhaven/ Acushnet town lines - At the fork continue to the right of Seafood Hut and travel down the rest of Main street 
Continuing down Main Street past Galaxy Pizza House - Traveling past the side of the high school - Passing Wah May’s Restaurant - We will take a left onto South Street - And a right onto Fort Street - All the way down Fort Street to Fort Phoenix - A Left onto Old Fort Road - Another left onto Green Street - Continuing down Green Street past the Unitarian Church - Taking a right onto Center Street 

On Center Street, pass by Our Lady’s Haven & Rogers School - continue all the way down Center Street - Take a left onto Tripp Street - A right onto Washington Street - Past the Police & Fire Department - From Washington Street turn right onto Route 6 - Past McDonald’s - Keeping straight and veering right onto Sconticut Neck Road - Passing Riccardi’s Restaurant - Turning right into the LeRoy Wood School parking lot 

After pulling into the parking lot they will do a full loop and turn left out of the parking lot back onto Sconticut Neck Road - Passing back by Riccardi’s - And then veer right back onto Route 6 - pass Stop and Shop - Continuing down Route 6 past Kenny’s Farm Stand - Taking a left onto New Boston Road passing by East Fairhaven School - Continue down New Boston Road - Take a left onto Bridge Street - Through the traffic light and past the Titleist buildings 

Continue on Bridge Street across Route 240 - Past Pasta House - take a right back onto Route 6 - Past West Marine - All the way down to Adams Street -  take a right onto Adams - And a right onto Ash Street - At the end of Ash Street arrive at Elizabeth Hastings 
Middle School where seniors will waiting to be called to travel over to the high school for diplomas

If the route is going by your home, we would appreciate your support by waving to our seniors as their families drive by, keeping in mind MA DPH guidelines. 

Graduation Audio
During the procession, students and families will be provided with a link to listen to the prerecorded ceremony, including speeches and award winners. 

Graduation Video
While we do not want students and families watching a video while driving in the Graduation Procession, the prerecorded Graduation ceremony will be available right after the Procession for viewing. It will also be on Channel 9, 18 and available On Demand by link. These links will available soon.

A Facebook live link will be available the day of to watch graduates walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. Stay tuned!
